Sometimes you are lucky enough to spend time with great masters of their craft. An Post and Javelin have given us that opportunity twice in the last few years. Firstly with Jim Fitzpatrick, in his studio and again here with Shaughn McGrath. Spending time with Shaughn as he talked about his body of work with U2 which An Post were celebrating with a stamp series was like a creative tonic. It’s not very often you get to step outside of your own head and your own work and into someone elses, in their presence. But this was one of those occassions. It’s only a shame so much more of the interview was left out of the edits. But we still get to revisit the outtakes when the mood takes us.
